Inge Doesburg
I hold a Diploma in Fine Arts with Honours and a major in printmaking (1993) from the Dunedin School of Art Otago, Otago Polytechnic. At 6 Castle Street, Dunedin, I co-founded in 1995 what would become the Inge Doesburg Gallery and Studio and later, in 2019, RDS Gallery.
I taught Printmaking in the Fine and Visual Arts Foundation Course at King’s High School 1996 – 2012 and gave numerous workshops in the South Island. I was a part-time lecturer in printmaking at the Dunedin School of Art, Otago Polytechnic, from 2004-2006 and gave Printmaking evening classes there 2012-2015. I resumed teaching evening classes at the Dunedin School of Art, now Te Pūkenga, in 2021.
I took part in a number of publications of limited-edition books published by University of Otago (Otekau) Press.
I have had numerous solo shows and exhibited widely since 1991, including some of the main centres in NZ and public galleries, such as the Eastern Southland Art Gallery, Gore, and the Millennium Gallery, Blenheim. I have also contributed works to many group shows nationwide, as well as overseas in Japan, China, Australia and Germany. Currently I am a participant in an international printmaking touring exhibition “Thinking of Place III”.
In recent years, I have moved into mixed media works and painting, finding my inspiration in the natural environment of New Zealand.
My work is distributed both nationally and internationally, and is represented at:
The Artist Room Gallery, Dunedin
OCTA gallery, Old Cromwell Town
Susan Badcock Gallery, Geraldine
Waiheke Community Gallery, Waiheke Island
